B&B Up From Last Year, Drops in Ranking

Bold & The Beautiful added 84,000 viewers this week, up 3 percent from the 2.853 million viewers to 2.937 million this week. B&B was up an impressive 16 percent from last year’s 2.538 million viewers, an increase of almost 400,000 viewers. So far this season, B&B had averaged 2.924 million viewers, up by 7 percent from this point last year.

Bold & The Beautiful not only fell in both demographics but gave up its second-place spot, slipping behind GH to rank third. B&B saw its numbers drop in the older demographic by 7 percent week-to-week and year-to-year from a .55 to a .51 rating. This week’s rating was not only a season-low but a series low in women 25-54. The last time B&B fell below this level was August 2020, as the soaps struggled to lure viewers back after the pandemic shutdown. Season to date, the CBS soap opera is averaging a .56, off 13 percent from last year’s .64 rating.

GH Adds 123,000 Viewers After Controversial Firing of Steve Burton and Ingo Rademacher

General Hospital appears to have weathered the loss of actors Ingo Rademacher Steve Burton just fine. The ABC soap was up from last week’s season-low of 2.103 million viewers by 6 percent as an additional 123,000 viewers watched over the holiday week. This week was GH’s second most-watched since September, up from last year by 4 percent. GH has beaten or tied B&B for second place four out of ten weeks this season, twice in the past three weeks alone. Last season, GH only ranked second six times in the entire year.

GH was up a solid 10 percent from last week’s .49 rating, which ranks among the lowest-rated weeks the ABC soap has ever had in the demographic.
