Carly’s pulled off a paternity cheme in 1997…
Back in 1996 to 1997, Carly had a friend who was named Lorraine Miller. Lorraine was a nurse at Mercy Hospital who was kind of like Carly in the sense that she had no morals, but unlike Carly did not have the imagination to do awful things to get what she wanted. She also lacked a backbone as Carly talked her into quite a few schemes. One important one involved the paternity test when she was pregnant with Michael. Carly wanted to pass off her baby as Tony’s child when she was positive it was AJ Quartermaine who was the father. Carly cheated on Jason, her f-buddy at the time, with AJ in a one night stand.
… with help from a nurse named Lorraine Miller.
Lorraine changed the results but at some point screwed Carly over by sleeping with Tony Jones. She was never seen again after December of 1997. Tony left Carly when he realized she had cheated on him and Carly said he wasn’t the father. When he demanded a paternity test, it happened as AJ put two and two together about their one night stand and demanded one as well. Fearing the walls closing in, Carly turned to Jason and begged him to lie and say he was the father. Jason, knowing what it felt like to feel as alone in the world and misunderstood as Carly, he agreed.
Lorraine changed the paternity results for Carly AND slept with Tony Jones!
Just three years before, Tony lost his daughter BJ in a bus accident. The death weighed on his marriage with Bobbie Jones. Carly came to town to get revenge on her mother and used the grief Tony felt as a wedge and seduced him. Bobbie divorced him when she found out about the affair. This was long before anybody knew Carly was Bobbie’s daughter. Tony was overjoyed when he found out Carly was pregnant.Tony was crushed by the news that he wasn’t the father. He had lost BJ, then Bobbie, now Carly and the baby. He snapped and kidnapped baby Michael- and Robin Scorpio to cover his tracks. Robin, who had recently been diagnosed HIV positive, was held captive without the medication needed to keep her immune system stable. The ordeal nearly killed her and ended only when Jason located them. Jason smashed Tony’s hands in the process guaranteeing the doctor would never perform surgery again. In just a few short years Tony lost his daughter, his marriage, a second chance at love, another child and his career. All because of Carly.
Flash Forward to 2019. We got the whole Dawn of Day story that introduced us to another Lorraine’ Miller. Also a nurse. This one was nicknamed Harmony and allegedly not connected to the other Lorraine Miller at all. She was Shiloh’s ex-lover and involved in a host of schemes. We later learned that she is in fact, Willow’s mother. Lorraine also was blackmailed into working for Cyrus Renault last year. Now Lorraine Miller is working at the same prison that Alexis Davis is in, as Ryan Chamberlain’s nurse.
What if this Lorraine Miller IS THAT Lorraine Miller?
What if this Lorraine Miller IS the same Lorraine Miller? The same nurse that Carly was in cahoots with all those years ago hasn’t changed. I mean, Lorraine is just the same shady nurse- the same weak kind of shady. Lorraine is always involved in some scheme but forced into it by somebody else.
We never found out what happened to Lorraine Miller after her one night stand. What if she got pregnant by Tony Jones from that one night stand? She was probably scared of what Carly might do if she found out she was pregnant with Tony’s baby. And with Jason’s mob connections, it made sense for her to flee Port Charles. What if that baby grew up to be Willow Tait? The timeline and ages match up if Michael and Willow are the same age. Willow could be Maxie’s cousin and Frisco’s niece! We just got a legacy character.
Carly never said to do anything but to change the results to say Tony Jones was the father. What if Lorraine neglected to tell Carly that AJ wasn’t the father either. What if Jason turned out to be the father of Michael all along? We just got the retcon of all retcons.
It makes what Carly and Jason did worse. Ruining AJ’s life, ruining Tony’s life- it was all for nothing. Plus it makes the marriage that much more difficult to walk away from.
What if this is the same Lorraine Miller? What if Michael is Jason’s baby? What if Willow is Tony Jones’ baby?
