‘Bold And The Beautiful’: Ratings For The 2020-2021 Season, Updated 8/20/2021

What viewers are not counted in these numbers?

Great question. If you watch the episode via DVR-recording AFTER 3:00 AM, it would not count for the Live-Plus-Same-Day ratings. Those views are counted during Live-Plus-Seven-Day ratings which include (you guessed it), all the DVR viewing during the first week after the episode airs. Also not included: watching the episodes on VOD via your cable provider, watching on CBS.com or streaming via Paramount Plus or on sites like Dailymotion and Youtube. All of those make an impact, but for all intents and purposes these ratings are still the deciding factor. Although Days Of Our Lives ratings are the lowest in daytime television and received a two-year renewal as well as a spin-off limited series. This may mean things are changing in a big way.

Here’s a look at how B&B’s ratings performance this week stacked up compared to fellow CBS soap opera, Young And The Restless.

This Week’s Performance in Women 18-49

B&B had an exceptionally good week compared to last year in the demographics targeted by advertisers and sought after by the networks as viewers. In women 18-49, B&B dropped 10 week-to-week to a .39, which still allowed it to remain a comfortable second place behind Y&R. Last week, B&B hit season highs in multiple categories including achieving a .43 in women 18-49. B&B only managed a .31 during its fifth week back on the air after the shutdown last season. This year marked a 21% increase in the demographic.
