David Lewis, Outstanding Supporting Actor (1982)

While I have a special place for John Ingle, David Lewis lent Edward the presence as titan of industry much more. The ruthlessness of Edward matched only by his commitment to family more than money made him a force to be reckoned with. The actor’s scenes with Jane Elliot, most notably the one that earned her an Emmy are among the most memorable GH moments of all time. His relationship with adversaries and his daughter were contrasted with how he treated Lila. The ability to show both sides of the man earned him the award in 1982.
